1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Aera ("Aera", "we", "us" or "our") handles information when you use the Aera mobile application. By using Aera, you acknowledge the practices described here. This policy does not replace any rights provided by applicable privacy or consumer law.
2. Information handled by Aera
Information kept on your device. Aera saves journal entries, mood history, trusted-contact details, completed activities, streaks, preferences and progress in local app storage. We do not transmit this content to our servers.
Anonymous account information. Aera uses Firebase Authentication to create a random anonymous user identifier. You are not asked to provide a name, email address, password or phone number. Firebase may process the anonymous identifier and technical information such as an IP address and user-agent information to provide authentication, security and abuse prevention.
Purchase and subscription information. If you view, buy or restore Aera Premium, Apple and RevenueCat process information needed to provide the purchase. This may include an anonymous app user identifier, product and entitlement identifiers, subscription status, transaction information, country or store region, app version, platform and basic device or diagnostic information. We do not receive your full payment-card details.
Messages you send us. If you contact us, we receive the information in your message and your contact details so we can reply.
3. How information is used
- To create and maintain an anonymous app account.
- To show available subscriptions, confirm Premium access and restore purchases.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot and improve Aera.
- To respond to support, privacy and legal requests.
- To comply with law, prevent fraud and protect users and our services.
Aera does not use your journal entries, moods or trusted-contact details for advertising, profiling or model training.
4. Service providers and sharing
We do not sell or rent personal information. Information is shared only as needed with:
- Google Firebase, for anonymous authentication.
- RevenueCat, for subscription and entitlement management.
- Apple, for App Store distribution, billing and purchase management.
- Authorities or professional advisers where reasonably necessary to comply with law, enforce rights, prevent harm or complete a business transfer.
We require providers acting for us to handle information consistently with their contractual and legal privacy obligations. These providers may process information in Australia, the United States and other countries where they operate.
5. Device access and permissions
Aera does not request access to your camera, microphone, precise or approximate location, address book, photos, health records or advertising tracking identifier. The app uses audio playback and may continue playing selected relaxation audio in the background. If a future feature needs sensitive access, Aera will explain the purpose before requesting permission.
6. Retention and deletion
Local wellbeing content remains on your device until you remove it using Aera's reset controls, clear the app's storage or uninstall the app. This local content cannot ordinarily be recovered after deletion.
The anonymous Firebase account and associated subscription entitlement are kept while needed to operate the app, restore access, meet legal obligations and resolve disputes. Apple independently retains transaction information according to its policies and legal duties.
To request deletion of information controlled by us, email yasirabid96@icloud.com with the subject “Aera privacy request”. We may ask for the anonymous identifier or purchase details needed to locate the record. Deleting data does not cancel an active subscription; subscriptions must be cancelled through your Apple account.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information handled. Network communications with our service providers use encrypted connections. No storage or transmission method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
8. Children
Aera is not directed to children under 13. Older teenagers should use it with appropriate parent or guardian involvement. We do not knowingly ask children for names, email addresses or other direct contact information. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.
9. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, or to complain to a privacy regulator. You may exercise applicable rights by contacting us. You can stop further app-related processing by deleting the app, although service providers and app stores may retain records where legally required.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Aera, our providers or legal requirements change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If a change is material, we will provide additional notice where appropriate.
